Find out about my 2017 commission, Golden Life...
Having met this new client at Parallax Art Fair, in October 2016, in Chelsea Old Town, Lou was thrilled to be commissioned to produce her largest work to date, 'Golden Life'.
The initial brief:
The client really liked Lou’s all gold, circular piece called ‘Charlotte’ and wanted Lou to work with the same golden colours to form a large landscape piece, still with the concentric, circular pattern, yet to be named ‘Golden Life’.
The piece was to be hung above three pieces of furniture and Lou worked with photos of the room to initially attain the right sizing, then later, the right framing.
One of the challenges of producing such a large piece in the one colour was to create interest and depth, truly bringing to life these discarded golden chocolate and confectionery foils.
Lou sketched out several different options and worked on an all gold Colour Card…
Here’s how ‘Golden Life’ came together…
Lou worked with her client to ensure the perfect framing option was chosen, then oversaw the framing process before personally delivering the artwork for a delighted client to install…
